About Coral Mountain
Located in La Quinta, CA in the eastern quadrant of the Coachella Valley, Coral Mountain is a 400-acre land parcel acquired by Meriwether Companies in mid-2019. The site is one of the last remaining large land parcels in the Coachella Valley. With views of the surrounding Santa Rosa Mountain range, the site abuts Coral Mountain – a name derived from an ancient seabed and resulting fossilized sea shells and visible waterlines found on the property. Development plans for the property eschew a gated country club in favor of a next-generation offering of community, wellness and sports anchored by a wave basin from the Kelly Slater Wave Company. Featuring both a resort and residential community, programming will feature a wide range of adventure sports ranging from surfing to stand-up paddle boarding, biking and rock climbing -– all integrated with a cutting edge health and wellness program enlivened by music, food and community.
Designed to accommodate individuals, groups, families, and corporate gatherings, the hospitality program will operate as a full-service, lifestyle resort. It is envisioned to include a mix of traditional hotel rooms and adjacent detached casita units.
